RMTs have completed post-secondary education in clinical applications of health sciences in massage therapy settings, and have met CMTBC’s rigorous entry-level requirements. RMTs are subject to Standards of Practice and Code of Ethics; the requirements of the Health Professions Act; standards of professional conduct; and CMTBC’s quality assurance program, which ensures ongoing professional development.

As such, many extended health benefits plans cover Registered Massage Therapy as an allied health practitioner service.
